D.A.V. MOVEMENT
Towards Brighter tomorrow....
The DAV movement was founded in 1886, to spread the ideals of Swami Dayanand Saraswati, "the first great architect of modern India", who was fired with a zeal for social and political reforms. He realised that national salvation lay in educating the masses, especially women and stressed on the rediscovery and reinterpretation of the Vedas and the Upanishads. DAV is the largest Non-Governmental Educational Organisation in the country managing more than 900 educational institutions in India and abroad which include not only schools but also institutes of higher learning such as Arts/Science/Commerce Colleges, Dental Colleges, Ayurvedic Colleges, Engineering Colleges etc.
DAV Institutes have rendered a unique service in not only dispelling ignorance and illiteracy but also in producing firebrand patriots, freedom fighters, social reformers, intellectuals, legal luminaries, doctors and engineers of unparalleled merit, integrity and calibre. The growth of the DAV society can be attributed to the secularism inherent in the Indian Culture which is symptomatic of unity amidst diversity. Jt has assumed new dimensions, unprecedented in the annals of quality education and caters to the educational, physical, moral and scientific needs of the children.
